THE ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM IS CURRENTLY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2020-2021 YEAR .

FOR ENERGY EMERGENCIES OUTSIDE OF NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS OR WHEN OFFICES ARE CLOSED, PLEASE CONTACT 211 FOR FURTHER ASSISTANCE.

 

OUR PURPOSE
To assist low income families with the high cost of home energy.
 
WHAT IS THE ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM?
The Energy Assistance Program is a program designed to provide financial assistance to low income households.  Households are given a one-time benefit in order to maintain utility services during the winter heating season and the summer cooling season.  Households must apply and meet income and program guidelines.  EAP is a first come, first serve program.

WHAT TYPE OF ASSISTANCE IS OFFERED THROUGH THE ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM? 
Regular Assistance
A specified dollar amount applied toward the primary heating source once a household is deemed qualified.  It is a one-time payment that is paid directly to the utility provider as a lump sum.
 
Crisis Assistance
Assist in helping a household avoid disconnection or to assist in restoring interrupted service.  It is a one-time payment that is paid in one lump sum directly to the utility provider.
 
Summer Cool
Benefits available to help off-set the higher costs of energy associated with cooling your residence.  Availability of this benefit is based on funding.

The program is implemented throughout our five county service area with outreach offices in each county.  All offices provide on-site regular and crisis application intake.  Mail In Applications can be obtained below or by calling your local outreach office.  Please visit the Locations tab above to obtain information regarding your local outreach office.

Indiana Workforce Development Release of Information (Wage Inquiry Request Form) *Only complete if a member of the household receives unemployment.*
Zero Income Affidavit *Complete if a member of the household has had one month or more of no income.*
Landlord Affidavit
Direct Deposit Form *Only complete if electric and/or gas is included in the rent or primary heat source is wood.*
